Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only.  Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening. Coco Chanel

DETOUR 2013/14 - launching later in 2013

DETOUR 2013/14 is One Colour's next trans-seasonal collaboration with Viva Africa in Kenya.  The Collection emerges after visits in 2012 to Kenya, Paris and Namibia by One Colour founder, Di Stitt.  From concept to completion, DETOUR values the time elapsed, the route taken and the people involved.  Confidently bringing together separates and dresses, DETOUR creates a new range of beautiful, classic silhouettes that travel with us wherever we go.

Blending African grown cotton in woven or jersey fabrics, DETOUR introduces a subtle use of African print trim with classic black, starlight blue, white, red bud and creamy taupe.  This collection is timeless in style, with an underlying versatility allowing for work or weekend wear.

A DETOUR may initially take you further from your destination, however there is also an opportunity to see things not seen before.

Peripheral Vision II  - 2012

Peripheral Vision II is a trans-seasonal Collection that revisits the previous 2 Collections and also introduces fresh silhouettes.  Each piece draws on the founder’s African experience and the influence of the fabrics.  The overall effect is a relaxed, elegant feel in jersey and a more structured, classic look with the woven kikoi fabric.

The timeless quality of the African landscape and the striking colours found there are reflected in this Collection, and in demeanour of the woman who chooses to wear One Colour.  Peripheral Vision II is our 3rd collaboration with Viva Africa and is available on line now. Wholesale enquiries welcome.

Peripheral Vision - 2011

With a focus on the subtle sophistication of organic navy jersey and black jersey cotton, Peripheral Vision I uses white and orange accents that catch our eye, without distracting from the whole.

“Our peripheral vision serves us in a similar way – allowing us to see what is happening around us while we look straight ahead”, says Di.  “It helps us negotiate through life giving us a bigger, fuller picture.”

Looking Beyond - 2009/10

Looking beyond is “old world charm with a new world edge”.  Balancing graceful lines and a quiet elegance with 100% cotton fabric from East Africa and employment for Kenyan men and women, this collection dares us to unite our compassion for others with our desire to look great.
